To set up your Linksys KVM2KIT Switch, connect your keyboard, video, and mouse to the console ports on the switch. Then, use the included KVM cables to connect your computers to the switch. Power on all connected devices and use the switch to toggle between them.
Ensure that all cables are securely connected. Try unplugging and replugging the keyboard and mouse. If the problem persists, reboot the computers while the KVM switch is powered on and connected.
The Linksys KVM2KIT is designed to control up to two computers. To control more, you would need to daisy-chain additional KVM switches.
You can switch between computers using the push-button on the KVM switch or through keyboard hotkeys if supported. Consult the user manual for hotkey combinations.
The Linksys KVM2KIT supports video resolutions up to 2048x1536 pixels, ensuring clear and sharp display quality.
Check that the video cable is properly connected to both the KVM switch and the computer. Verify that the monitor is set to the correct input source. If using adapters, ensure they are compatible and functioning properly.
Wireless keyboards and mice can be used with the KVM2KIT, provided their receiver is connected to the switch's USB ports. Compatibility can vary, so testing is recommended.
Keep the device in a cool, dry place. Regularly check and clean connections to avoid dust buildup. Periodically inspect cables for wear and replace if necessary.
Ensure the power adapter is properly connected to the switch and a working power outlet. If the issue persists, try using a different power adapter or outlet to rule out power supply issues.
The KVM2KIT typically does not require firmware updates. However, check the Linksys support website for any updates and follow the provided instructions if applicable.
