Icom IC-X21AT Instruction Manual

To reset the IC-X21AT to factory settings, turn off the transceiver. Press and hold the 'FUNC' and 'V/M' buttons simultaneously while turning on the power. Release the buttons once the display shows 'RESET'.
First, check the battery for sufficient charge and ensure it is properly connected. Inspect the power switch and contacts for damage. If the issue persists, try using a different battery or contact Icom support for further assistance.
Ensure the antenna is securely connected and in good condition. Try adjusting the squelch setting to minimize interference. You may also consider using an external antenna for better reception.
To program frequencies, press 'VFO'. Use the keypad to enter the desired frequency. Press 'FUNC' followed by 'MW' to store it in memory. Choose a memory channel and confirm by pressing 'MW' again.
Press the 'FUNC' button, then use the tuning knob to adjust the squelch level. Higher settings reduce background noise but may limit reception of weak signals.
Enter the desired frequency, then press 'FUNC' and 'RPT' to select the repeater shift direction. Adjust the offset frequency as needed. Store the settings in a memory channel for quick access.
Currently, the IC-X21AT does not support user-performed firmware updates. For updates, contact Icom support or visit an authorized service center.
Audio distortion can be caused by a faulty microphone, incorrect settings, or external interference. Check the mic connection, ensure the volume is not too high, and try relocating to a different area to reduce interference.
Press 'FUNC' and then 'SET' to enter the settings menu. Navigate to 'Battery Save' and enable it. This function reduces power consumption when the transceiver is idle.
Regularly clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Check the antenna and battery connections for corrosion. Store the transceiver in a dry, cool place and avoid exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures. Perform a function check periodically.
