Icom IC-M85 Instruction Manual

To perform a factory reset on the Icom IC-M85, turn off the radio. Then, while holding down both the [SQL] and [CH/WX] keys, turn the radio on. This will reset the settings to factory defaults.
To maintain battery life, regularly charge the battery pack before it becomes completely depleted, avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, and store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Check the antenna connection for any damage or loose fittings, ensure the battery is fully charged, and verify that you are operating on the correct frequency and mode. Consider performing a factory reset if issues persist.
Enter the desired frequency using the keypad, press and hold the [ENT] key, select the channel number to store the frequency, then press [ENT] again to save.
To activate the dual/tri-watch feature, press and hold the [DW/TRI] key until you hear a beep. The transceiver will start monitoring the selected channels along with the priority channel.
Firmware updates for the IC-M85 are typically performed by authorized service centers. Contact your local Icom dealer for more information on available updates and service options.
Ensure that the volume is set to an adequate level, the microphone is not obstructed, and check for any electronic interference in the vicinity. Using an external speaker/microphone accessory can also enhance audio clarity.
Check that the battery pack is properly attached and charged. Inspect the contacts for any corrosion or dirt and clean if necessary. If the issue persists, try using a different battery or contact Icom support.
Press and hold the [FUNC] key, then press the [LOCK] key. This will lock the keypad. To unlock, repeat the process.
Regularly inspect the device for any signs of wear or damage, clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth, avoid exposing the transceiver to harsh environments, and follow proper battery care guidelines.
