To perform a factory reset on the Icom IC-E91, turn off the transceiver. Then, while holding down the [FUNC] and [V/MHz] keys, turn the power back on. This will reset the transceiver to its factory default settings.
To extend the battery life, reduce the transceiver's transmit power when high power is not necessary, disable the backlight when not needed, and ensure that scan modes and functions are used sparingly.
The Icom IC-E91 does not support user-updatable firmware. To address any issues, contact Icom support or your local dealer for assistance.
To program frequencies, enter VFO mode, select the desired frequency, then press [FUNC] and [MW]. Select a memory channel using the tuning dial, and press [MW] again to store the frequency.
Check the microphone connection and ensure that the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button is functioning. Make sure the transceiver is not in a low power or muted mode. If issues persist, consult the user manual or contact support.
To set up dual watch, press the [FUNC] button, then press [DUP-W] to activate the dual watch function. Select the main and sub-band frequencies to monitor both channels.
To adjust the squelch, press the [SQL] button, then rotate the tuning dial to set the squelch level. A higher setting requires a stronger signal to open the squelch.
Ensure the transceiver is used in a well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged high-power transmissions and check that the antenna is properly matched to reduce stress on the transceiver.
First, check the power connections and ensure the battery is charged. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset. If the display still does not function, contact Icom support for further assistance.
To perform a memory scan, press [FUNC] then [SCAN]. The transceiver will scan through the stored memory channels. Press [SCAN] again to stop the scan.
