Open the glove compartment and remove the contents. Detach the dampener arm on the right side. Squeeze the sides of the glove box to release it from the dashboard. The recommended tire pressure for the 2012 Honda Fit is typically 32 psi for both front and rear tires. However, check the label on the driver's side door jamb for the most accurate information.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance such as oil changes and air filter replacements. Keep tires properly inflated, remove unnecessary weight from the vehicle, and drive conservatively by avoiding rapid acceleration and hard braking.
Common issues include transmission problems, unusual noises, and door lock malfunctions. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to warning lights can prevent many problems. For specific issues, consult a certified Honda technician.
Turn off both vehicles and connect the red jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery, then to the positive terminal of the donor battery. Connect the black cable to the negative terminal of the donor battery and attach the other end to an unpainted metal surface on the dead vehicle. Start the donor car, then the Fit. Once started, remove cables in reverse order.
Open the hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the power connector from the bulb. Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly. Insert the new bulb, turning it clockwise to secure it. Reattach the power connector and test the new bulb.
The 2012 Honda Fit is not designed for towing heavy loads and does not have an official towing capacity. It is recommended to avoid towing with this vehicle to prevent damage.
With the engine warmed up and the car on a level surface, locate the transmission fluid dipstick near the battery. Remove it, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the 'Full' and 'Add' marks. Top up if necessary, using Honda recommended fluid.
