To replace the cabin air filter, open the glove box and remove the damper. Push in on both sides of the glove box to release it from its housing. The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box. Remove the cover and replace the old filter with a new one. Ensure it is properly aligned before securing the cover and reattaching the glove box.
The 2012 Honda Crosstour is recommended to use 5W-20 synthetic oil for optimal performance. Always refer to the owner's manual for confirmation.
Start by checking the air conditioning fuse and relay. Ensure the refrigerant levels are adequate. If these are fine, inspect the AC compressor and clutch for any visible damage. It may be necessary to consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis if these steps do not resolve the issue.
The maintenance schedule includes oil changes every 7,500 miles, tire rotations every 7,500 miles, and brake inspections every 15,000 miles. Transmission fluid should be checked at 30,000 miles. Refer to the owner's manual for a complete maintenance schedule.
Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Press the Select/Reset button on the steering wheel until the oil life indicator is displayed. Hold the Select/Reset button for about 10 seconds until the oil life indicator blinks, then release. Press and hold the button again for 5 seconds until the indicator resets to 100%.
If the check engine light comes on, first ensure the gas cap is securely fastened. If the light remains on, use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes and address any identified issues. If you are unsure, consult a professional mechanic for further examination.
To jump-start the Crosstour, position the booster vehicle close enough to connect jumper cables. Turn off all electronics in both cars. Connect the positive cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery and the other positive end to the booster battery. Connect one end of the negative cable to the negative terminal of the booster battery and the other end to an unpainted metal surface on the Crosstour's engine block. Start the booster vehicle, then the Crosstour. Remove cables in reverse order.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance such as timely oil changes and air filter replacements. Keep tires properly inflated and avoid aggressive driving habits. Reducing excess weight and using cruise control on highways can also help improve fuel economy.
Common causes of brake noise include worn brake pads, glazed pads or rotors, and lack of lubrication on the backing plates. Inspect the brakes for any signs of wear or damage and replace components as necessary. If noise persists, consult a professional mechanic for further inspection.
To replace a headlight bulb, open the hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb. Remove the rubber weather seal and unclip the bulb retaining wire. Carefully remove the old bulb and replace it with a new one, ensuring not to touch the glass with bare hands. Reassemble in reverse order.
