To set the temperature, locate the control panel on the freezer. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature setting to your desired level. The recommended setting for optimal performance is typically around -18°C.
First, ensure the freezer is plugged in and the power is on. Check the temperature setting and make adjustments if necessary. Examine the door seals for any damage that might be allowing air to escape. Clean the condenser coils if they are dirty. If the issue persists, contact Fagor customer service for assistance.
It is recommended to defrost your freezer once the frost build-up reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) thick. Regular defrosting helps maintain the efficiency of the appliance.
Ensure the door seals are intact and clean. Keep the freezer in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid overloading the freezer and allow space for air circulation inside the unit. Regularly defrost and clean the appliance.
Turn off and unplug the freezer. Remove all food items and shelves. Clean the interior with a mixture of baking soda and warm water, then rinse with clean water. Dry thoroughly before replacing the shelves and food. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth.
Unplug the freezer. Locate the light cover inside the freezer compartment. Remove the cover by unscrewing or unclipping it, depending on the model. Replace the bulb with a new one of the same type and wattage. Reattach the cover and plug the freezer back in.
Unusual noises can be caused by the freezer not being level. Make sure the freezer is on a flat, stable surface. Check for any loose items inside that might be vibrating. If noises persist, it might indicate a mechanical issue requiring professional service.
Ensure the door is fully closed after each use. Avoid leaving the door open for extended periods. Check for proper sealing and replace damaged gaskets. Regularly defrost the freezer and avoid overloading it to ensure proper air circulation.
Inspect the seal for damage such as cracks or tears. If damaged, it should be replaced to maintain efficiency. Contact Fagor customer service or a qualified technician to order a replacement seal and have it installed.
Empty the freezer and secure all moving parts. Defrost and clean the interior. Use a dolly to move the freezer, keeping it upright to prevent damage to the cooling system. Secure it during transport to prevent tipping. Allow it to settle for several hours before plugging it in at the new location.
