Fagor CIV-21 User Manual

To adjust the temperature on your Fagor CIV-21, locate the thermostat dial inside the refrigerator. Turn the dial clockwise to lower the temperature and counterclockwise to increase it. It's recommended to set the fridge to around 37°F (3°C) for optimal cooling.
First, check that the refrigerator is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Ensure that the thermostat is set correctly and the door seals are clean and intact. If the problem persists, inspect the condenser coils for dust accumulation and clean them if necessary.
The Fagor CIV-21 is typically a frost-free model, but if manual defrosting is required, it should be done when the frost buildup exceeds 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). To defrost, unplug the appliance and leave the door open until the ice melts.
To clean the interior, remove all food items and shelves. Use a solution of mild soap and warm water to wipe down all surfaces. Rinse with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly before replacing shelves and food. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Water pooling can be due to a blocked defrost drain. Clean the drain hole using a pipe cleaner or a similar tool. If the issue continues, ensure the drip pan beneath the fridge is properly positioned and not overflowing.
First, unplug the refrigerator. Locate the light cover inside the fridge, remove it by unscrewing or unclipping it, and replace the bulb with one of the same type and wattage. Reattach the cover and plug the refrigerator back in.
Noises might be due to the refrigerator being unlevel, items vibrating inside, or a faulty fan. Ensure the fridge stands level and none of the stored items are touching the interior walls. If noise persists, check the fan and motor for debris or wear.
To enhance energy efficiency, ensure the door seals are clean and airtight. Avoid placing hot food directly inside and keep the fridge well-organized to minimize door opening times. Regularly clean the condenser coils to maintain optimal performance.
Inspect the door gasket for any damage or dirt. Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and make sure it's pliable. If damaged, replace the gasket to ensure a proper seal is maintained.
Unusual odors can be eliminated by removing spoiled food and cleaning the interior with baking soda and water. Ensure the drip pan is clean and the fridge is properly ventilated. Place an open box of baking soda inside to absorb lingering odors.
