To assemble the Cuisinart DLC-1, ensure the bowl is securely attached to the base, then place the blade onto the motor shaft. Finally, lock the lid onto the bowl until it clicks.
If the motor doesn't start, check if the unit is properly plugged in, the bowl and lid are securely locked in place, and the motor shaft is free of obstructions.
Disassemble the unit and wash the bowl, lid, and blade in warm, soapy water. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth, ensuring it's unplugged before cleaning.
Always ensure the machine is off before inserting or removing discs. Use the provided pusher, not your fingers, to guide food into the feed tube.
Ensure that the ingredients are cut into uniform sizes before processing and avoid overloading the bowl. Pulse in short bursts for better results.
Check for any foreign objects in the bowl or blade area, ensure the blade is properly seated, and confirm the unit is placed on a stable surface to reduce vibration.
It is not recommended to process hot foods in the DLC-1 as it may damage the bowl. Allow foods to cool before processing.
Inspect the blade regularly for signs of wear or damage. Replace the blade if it becomes dull or shows chips for optimal performance.
Store the unit in a cool, dry place, with all components disassembled and clean. Avoid placing heavy objects on top to prevent damage.
Ensure the bowl and blade are completely dry before adding ingredients. Lightly coat the bowl and blade with a small amount of cooking oil if necessary to reduce sticking.
