To assemble the Cuisinart CPM-700BK, ensure the popping plate is securely placed on the base, attach the bowl by aligning it with the popping plate, and place the top cover on the bowl.
Ensure you are using fresh popcorn kernels and follow the recommended oil and kernel ratio. Over-filling the popping chamber can also lead to incomplete popping.
Allow the unit to cool completely. Detach the bowl and popping plate. Wash the bowl, popping plate, and cover in warm soapy water. Wipe the base with a damp cloth.
Smoking can occur if excess oil is used or if oil residue is left from previous use. Ensure the popping plate is clean before each use, and use the recommended amount of oil.
Flavored oils can be used, but avoid adding solid seasonings directly during popping. Season the popcorn after it has been popped to prevent damage to the unit.
The recommended ratio is 1 tablespoon of oil for every 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels for optimal popping.
Check that the unit is plugged in and the outlet is functioning. Also, ensure the bowl and popping plate are correctly assembled as the safety mechanism may prevent operation if not properly aligned.
Chewy popcorn can result from using too much oil or not allowing the popcorn to dry properly after popping. Ensure proper ventilation and use the recommended oil amount.
Regular maintenance involves cleaning after each use. Inspect the power cord and other components monthly for wear. Replace parts as needed to ensure safe operation.
The CPM-700BK is designed specifically for popcorn kernels. Popping other grains may not yield the desired results and could damage the unit.
