To set up the Cobra XRS 9690, mount the device on your windshield using the suction cup bracket. Plug the power cord into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, and connect it to the detector. Turn on the device by pressing the power button.
To update the firmware, visit the Cobra Electronics website and download the latest firmware for the XRS 9690 model. Connect your device to a computer using a USB cable and follow the on-screen instructions provided by the update software.
False alerts can occur due to interference from non-police radar sources. Ensure your detector is properly positioned and use the city mode to reduce sensitivity to non-police radar signals.
To improve detection range, mount the detector at the highest point on your windshield where it has a clear view of the road. Avoid any obstructions such as wipers or tint strips.
Check the power connection to ensure it is secure. Verify that your car's cigarette lighter socket is functioning. If the device still doesn't power on, try using a different power cord or consult customer support.
To reset the device to factory settings, press and hold the mute and dim buttons simultaneously for two seconds while the unit is powered on. This will restore default settings.
