To install the Cobra iRAD, mount the device on the windshield using the provided suction cup mount. Ensure that the device has a clear view of the road. Connect the power cable to the cigarette lighter or a compatible power source. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
First, check the power cable and ensure it is securely connected to both the iRAD and the power source. Verify that the power source is functioning. If the device still doesn't power on, try using a different power cable or power source.
To update the Cobra iRAD software, connect the device to a computer using a USB cable. Visit the Cobra official website, download the latest software update, and follow the provided instructions to complete the update process.
Calibration is typically automatic. However, for optimal performance, ensure the iRAD is mounted correctly and has a clear, unobstructed view of the road. Regularly check for software updates that may include calibration improvements.
To connect the iRAD to a smartphone, download the Cobra iRadar app from the App Store or Google Play. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, open the app, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device.
If false alerts occur, ensure the device is mounted correctly. Check for any reflective surfaces or electronics that might interfere with the signal. Adjust the sensitivity settings in the app to reduce false alerts.
To reset the Cobra iRAD, locate the reset button on the device, usually a small pinhole. Use a pin or paperclip to press and hold the button for about 10 seconds until the device restarts. This will restore factory settings.
Regularly clean the device and its lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear detection. Periodically check for software updates. Inspect the mounting and power connections for any signs of wear or damage.
The Cobra iRAD is designed to operate in a wide range of conditions, but extreme temperatures and weather can affect performance. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods and ensure the device is dry and free from moisture.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and that the iRAD is within range. Restart both the smartphone and the iRAD. If issues persist, uninstall and reinstall the Cobra iRadar app and attempt the pairing process again.
