Open the back cover by pulling up the film rewind knob, insert the film canister, pull the film leader across to the take-up spool, and align the film leader end with the red mark. Close the back cover and advance the film using the shutter button until the frame counter shows '1'.
The Canon EOS 300 uses two CR2 lithium batteries. Ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly, observing the polarity indicated in the battery compartment.
Ensure that the lens is switched to AF mode, clean the lens and camera contacts with a dry cloth, confirm that there is sufficient light and contrast in the scene, and check that the subject is within the lens's focusing range.
Press and hold the film rewind button on the bottom of the camera, then turn the film rewind crank clockwise until the film is completely rewound into the canister. You will feel a decrease in tension when rewinding is complete.
Rotate the mode dial on the top of the camera to select the desired shooting mode such as Full Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night Scene, or Program AE.
Check that the batteries are charged and properly inserted. Ensure the film is loaded correctly, and try rewinding and reloading the film. If the issue persists, the camera may require servicing.
Press the 'ISO' button and use the main dial to set the desired ISO speed. The camera will automatically detect the DX-coded film's ISO speed when loaded.
Yes, switch the lens to MF mode, and rotate the focus ring on the lens barrel until the subject appears sharp in the viewfinder.
Ensure the film is properly loaded and the camera is powered on. Check the battery level, and if necessary, replace the batteries. Confirm that the camera is not set to self-timer mode.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the camera body. For the lens, use a blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth moistened with a small amount of lens cleaning solution. Avoid touching the lens with fingers.
