To clean the Canon CR-135i II scanner, first turn off the device and unplug it. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water or a non-abrasive cleaning solution. Clean the exterior and feed path gently. Avoid using strong solvents or abrasive materials.
Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the scanner and a working power outlet. Check if the power switch is turned on. If the scanner still does not power on, try using a different power cable or outlet. If the issue persists, contact Canon support.
To resolve paper jams, first turn off the scanner and unplug it. Open the scanner cover, and gently remove any jammed paper, being careful not to tear it. Check for any small pieces of paper stuck inside. Once cleared, close the cover and resume scanning.
It is recommended to clean the scanner's feed path and rollers every 4,000 scans or once a week, whichever comes first. Additionally, perform a more thorough cleaning monthly and replace the rollers every 100,000 scans or as needed.
To update the firmware, download the latest firmware update from the Canon website. Connect the scanner to your computer via USB, and run the update utility following the on-screen instructions. Ensure the scanner remains powered on and connected during the update process.
Ensure the documents are properly aligned in the feeder and that the feed rollers are clean. Check that the paper guides are adjusted to fit the document width without being too tight. If issues persist, recalibrate the scanner using the included calibration sheet.
To improve scanning speed, ensure that the scanner is connected via a high-speed USB port. Check your scanning software settings to optimize for speed, such as reducing resolution if high quality is not needed. Regular maintenance, like cleaning, can also enhance performance.
Ensure that the paper stack is well-aligned and that no pages are stuck together. Adjust the document guide to hold the paper in place securely. If errors continue, clean the feed rollers and sensors regularly to prevent such issues.
Load the checks into the feeder, ensuring they are aligned and facing the correct direction. Use the scanning software to select the check scanning mode if available. Follow on-screen prompts to complete the scanning process.
Check that the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and computer. Try using a different USB port or cable. Ensure the scanner drivers are correctly installed and up-to-date. Restart the computer and scanner, and then try reconnecting.
