To thread the Brother SQ-9000, raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel toward you to raise the needle. Place the spool on the spool pin, follow the threading path indicated on the machine, and thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure the feed dogs are raised and the presser foot is down. Adjust the stitch length, and check if the feed dogs are clean and free of lint.
Check if the thread is correctly seated in the tension discs. Adjust the tension dial gradually and test on a scrap piece of fabric. Ensure both the upper and bobbin threads are of the same weight.
Check if you are using the correct needle for your fabric type. Ensure the needle is properly installed and not bent. Avoid pulling the fabric while sewing.
Regularly clean the bobbin case and feed dogs. Oil the machine as per the user manual's instructions, and change the needle after every project or when it becomes dull.
Use the stitch selector dial or buttons to choose your desired stitch. Adjust the stitch length and width using the corresponding dials or digital settings.
Replace the needle if it is dull or bent. Ensure it is correctly installed. Verify that the thread is threaded properly and check the tension settings.
Turn off the machine, remove the needle and presser foot, and open the bobbin cover. Carefully remove any tangled thread, reinsert the bobbin correctly, and rethread the machine.
Lower the presser foot, raise the needle to its highest position, and pull down the needle threader lever. Hook the thread onto the guide and pull it through the needle eye as the lever is released.
Ensure the machine is well-oiled and free from lint buildup. Check for any loose screws or parts, and verify that the needle is correctly installed and not damaged.
