To thread the Brother SB700T, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the machine. 2. Raise the presser foot lever. 3. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. 4. Guide the thread through the thread guide and down the right channel. 5. Bring the thread up the left channel and through the take-up lever. 6. Lead the thread down to the needle, threading it through the needle from front to back.
Skipped stitches can be caused by several factors: 1. Ensure the needle is installed correctly and not bent or dull. 2. Check that the thread is correctly threaded through the machine. 3. Use the correct needle size and type for the fabric. 4. Make sure the bobbin is wound correctly and inserted properly.
Regular maintenance includes: 1. Turn off and unplug the machine. 2. Remove the needle and presser foot. 3. Open the needle plate and remove lint and dust with a small brush. 4. Oil the machine as per the manual's instructions. 5. Replace the needle regularly to ensure optimal performance.
If the fabric is not feeding, try the following: 1. Check that the feed dogs are in the raised position. 2. Ensure the presser foot is lowered. 3. Verify that the stitch length is set correctly. 4. Clean around the feed dogs to remove any lint or debris.
To adjust the tension: 1. Locate the tension dial on the machine. 2. Increase the tension by turning the dial to a higher number. 3. Decrease the tension by turning the dial to a lower number. 4. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure proper tension settings.
Needle breakage can result from: 1. Using the wrong needle size or type for the fabric. 2. Incorrectly installed needle. 3. Pulling the fabric while sewing. 4. Hitting a pin or thick seam.
To change the presser foot: 1. Turn off the machine. 2. Raise the presser foot lever. 3. Press the lever at the back of the presser foot holder to release the current foot. 4. Place the new foot under the holder and lower the presser foot lever to snap it into place.
The Brother SB700T Sewing Machine uses SA156, class 15 type bobbins. Ensure you use the correct size to prevent jamming and ensure smooth operation.
To troubleshoot a jam: 1. Turn off and unplug the machine. 2. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case. 3. Clear any tangled threads and lint. 4. Reassemble the machine and rethread both the upper thread and bobbin.
For quilting, set up your machine by: 1. Using a walking foot or quilting foot. 2. Lowering the feed dogs if free-motion quilting. 3. Selecting a longer stitch length. 4. Using a quilting needle and thread appropriate for your quilt's fabric.
