Brother PS-21 Operation Manual

To thread the Brother PS-21, first raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin, follow the threading path indicated on the machine, and thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure you are using the correct needle size and type for your fabric. Check that the needle is properly installed and not bent. Also, make sure the thread is not tangled and that the tension is set correctly.
To adjust the tension, locate the tension dial on the front of the machine. Turn the dial to a higher number for tighter tension or a lower number for looser tension. Test on a scrap fabric to find the correct setting.
Check that the feed dogs are raised. Ensure the presser foot is down and the fabric is aligned correctly. Clean any lint or debris under the needle plate and around the feed dogs.
It is recommended to oil your Brother PS-21 every 20-30 hours of sewing. Use only sewing machine oil and apply it to the designated points as indicated in the user manual.
Check that the needle is not bent or dull and is inserted correctly. Ensure you are using the correct needle and thread for your fabric. Re-thread the machine, both top and bobbin threads, to ensure proper threading.
Raise the presser foot lifter and the needle. Press the presser foot release lever to remove the foot. Position the new presser foot under the holder and lower the presser foot lifter to attach it.
First, turn off the machine and check for any loose screws or parts. Clean the machine of any thread or lint build-up. Ensure the needle is installed correctly and is not hitting the needle plate.
Turn off and unplug the machine. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case to clean out lint and dust using a small brush. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly placed on the winder spindle and that the winder is engaged. Check if the bobbin is compatible and not damaged. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or contact support.
