To thread the Brother PE-700, raise the presser foot and turn off the machine. Place the spool on the spool pin, guide the thread through the thread guide, tension disc, and then through the needle bar thread guide, finally threading the needle from front to back.
Ensure the bobbin is correctly installed and the needle is inserted correctly. Re-thread the upper thread and bobbin, ensuring there are no tangles or knots. Also, check that the needle is not bent or damaged.
To change the needle, turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, and insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back. Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and dust. Oil the machine as recommended in the user manual. Check and replace needles regularly and ensure parts are properly tightened. Have the machine serviced by a professional annually.
First, re-thread the machine, ensuring the thread is seated correctly in the tension discs. Adjust the tension dial gradually while testing on a scrap fabric until the desired tension is achieved. Ensure the needle and thread are appropriate for the fabric.
Jamming can be caused by incorrect threading, tangled thread, or a misaligned bobbin. Re-thread the machine, check the bobbin placement, and ensure the fabric is correctly positioned and not too thick for the needle.
Download the latest firmware from the Brother website onto a USB drive. Insert the USB into the machine while it is turned off. Turn on the machine and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.
The Brother PE-700 is compatible with the PES and DST embroidery formats. Ensure your designs are saved in one of these formats for successful import and usage.
Ensure the thread is correctly threaded and the tension is not too tight. Use high-quality thread and appropriate needle size for the fabric. Regularly check the thread path for any obstructions or sharp edges.
Stop sewing immediately and turn off the machine. Check for any loose screws, obstructions, or tangled threads. Clean the machine of any lint or debris, and ensure the needle is not bent. If the issue persists, consult a technician.
