Brother LX2375 Operation Manual

To thread the needle, first raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. Place the spool of thread on the spool pin and pass the thread through the thread guide. Pull the thread down into the tension disc, then guide it up into the take-up lever. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
If your stitches are skipping, first check that the needle is not bent or dull and replace it if necessary. Ensure the needle is correctly inserted with the flat side facing the back. Also, verify that the machine is threaded properly and the tension is set correctly for your fabric type.
To maintain your machine, regularly remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using a small brush. Oil the machine as recommended in the manual, typically in the bobbin case area, to keep it running smoothly. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
If the fabric is not feeding, check that the presser foot is lowered. Ensure the feed dogs are engaged and not dropped for free-motion sewing. Additionally, verify that the stitch length is not set to zero.
To wind the bobbin, place an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle and push it to the right. Thread the machine as usual, bypassing the needle, and wrap the thread around the bobbin. Hold the end of the thread and start the machine to fill the bobbin. Cut the excess thread and push the bobbin winder back to the left when done.
For lightweight fabrics, use a lower tension setting (2-4), for medium-weight fabrics a moderate setting (4-6), and for heavy fabrics a higher setting (6-8). Always test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure the tension is correct.
Unusual noises can often be resolved by re-threading the machine, ensuring the bobbin is correctly inserted, and checking for any trapped threads or debris. Regular cleaning and oiling can also prevent noise issues.
To adjust the stitch length, use the stitch length dial located on the machine. Turn it to the desired length setting, typically shorter for finer fabrics and longer for thicker fabrics. The standard stitch length is usually set around 2.5.
Use a universal needle size 70/10 for lightweight fabrics, size 80/12 for medium-weight fabrics, and size 90/14 for heavy fabrics. Special needles like ballpoint or denim needles can be used for specific fabric types such as knits or jeans.
First, ensure the machine is threaded correctly with the presser foot up. Check that the bobbin is wound evenly and inserted properly. Adjust the upper tension using the tension dial and test on a scrap fabric. If issues persist, consult the manual for specific tension troubleshooting.
