To thread the Brother HE1, first raise the presser foot and turn off the machine. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread passes through the tension discs and the needle's eye.
Ensure the feed dogs are raised. Check the presser foot pressure and adjust if necessary. Clean the feed dogs and surrounding area from lint or debris.
To adjust the tension, use the tension dial located on the front of the machine. For tighter stitches, increase the tension number. For looser stitches, decrease it. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to find the optimal setting.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs. Oil the machine as specified in the manual. Replace the needle frequently to ensure optimal performance.
Turn off the machine and raise the needle to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, then tighten the screw securely.
Skipped stitches can be caused by a bent or dull needle, incorrect threading, or inappropriate tension settings. Replace the needle, re-thread the machine, and adjust the tension as necessary.
Ensure the bobbin is placed correctly in the bobbin winder. Check that the thread is properly threaded through the bobbin winding guide. Make sure the bobbin winder shaft is pushed to the right position.
Unusual noises can indicate a need for cleaning or oiling. Turn off the machine, remove lint from the bobbin area, and oil the machine as per instructions. Check for any loose parts or screws.
Attach the embroidery unit to the machine. Insert the embroidery foot and hoop the fabric securely. Select an embroidery pattern from the machine's menu and start the embroidery process.
Store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment. Cover it with a dust cover when not in use. Avoid exposing the machine to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
