Brandt FER-20C User Manual

To descale the Brandt FER-20C Steam Iron, fill the water tank with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Heat the iron and when it's ready, press the steam button to release the solution through the steam holes. Repeat with plain water to rinse.
If your iron is not producing steam, check if there is enough water in the tank. Ensure the temperature setting is high enough for steam production and make sure the steam control is on. Clean the steam vents if they are clogged.
It is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent scale buildup. If you must use tap water, ensure it is not hard water and clean the iron regularly to prevent deposits.
To prevent water leakage, ensure the iron is hot enough before using the steam function. Avoid overfilling the water tank and never use the steam feature when the iron is set to a low temperature.
If the soleplate is sticky, unplug the iron and let it cool. Clean it with a cloth dampened with a mixture of water and baking soda. Avoid using abrasive materials that could damage the soleplate.
To store the iron, empty the water tank and let the iron cool completely. Wrap the cord loosely around the base and store it in an upright position in a dry place.
The Brandt FER-20C Steam Iron is equipped with an auto shut-off feature for safety. It turns off if left idle for too long. Simply move or shake the iron to reactivate it.
To clean the water tank, fill it with warm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Swirl the solution around and then empty it. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
The Brandt FER-20C Steam Iron can be used on a variety of fabrics including cotton, linen, wool, and synthetic blends. Always check the fabric care label for temperature settings.
To remove wrinkles without direct contact, use the vertical steam feature. Hang the garment and hold the iron close enough to allow steam to penetrate the fabric, smoothing out wrinkles.
