Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and make sure the PTO switch is in the 'Off' position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the fuel tank has sufficient fuel and the fuel valve is open. Verify the spark plug is in good condition and replace if necessary.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 oil or as specified in the owner's manual.
The recommended spark plug is Champion RC12YC or equivalent. Ensure to check the gap setting as per the manual before installation.
Check if the mower deck is level and adjust if necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and balance. Replace or sharpen the blades as needed. Ensure the tire pressure is equal on all sides.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to uneven cutting, clogging of the mower deck, and potential safety hazards. Wait until the grass is dry for optimal mowing.
Regularly clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup. Check and maintain blade sharpness. Inspect belts for wear and replace them if necessary.
Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Check that all mounting bolts and fasteners are secure. Examine the belts for wear or misalignment and replace if needed.
Ensure the tires are properly inflated and consider using tire chains for additional traction. Always mow up and down slopes, not across, to maintain stability.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any grass clippings. Change the oil and drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location to protect it from the elements.
