To reset the Viking FDW102 dishwasher, press and hold the "Start/Cancel" button for about 3 seconds until the control panel lights turn off. Release the button, and the dishwasher should be reset.
If the dishwasher is not draining, check for clogs in the drain hose, filter, and garbage disposal connection. Ensure the drain hose is not kinked and is installed at the correct height. Clean or replace the filter if necessary.
To improve drying performance, ensure that the "Heat Dry" option is selected. Use a rinse aid to help water sheet off dishes. Load dishes properly to allow adequate air circulation.
Unusual noises may be caused by items in the dishwasher touching each other or the spray arms. Ensure that dishes are properly loaded and not obstructing the spray arms. Check for foreign objects in the filter or pump area.
It is recommended to clean the filter every month to maintain optimal performance. If you notice a decrease in cleaning efficiency, check and clean the filter more frequently.
Check the door gasket for damage and ensure it is properly seated. Inspect the water inlet valve and hose connections for leaks. Ensure the dishwasher is level to prevent water from escaping.
To remove the spray arms, unscrew or unclip them from the dishwasher. Soak them in warm, soapy water and use a brush to clean any debris from the holes. Rinse thoroughly and reattach to the dishwasher.
Use a high-quality, automatic dishwasher detergent. Avoid using regular dish soap as it can cause excessive suds and damage the dishwasher. Consider using detergent pods for convenience and effectiveness.
Ensure the dishwasher is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Check the door latch to ensure it is closed properly. Verify that the "Delay Start" function is not activated.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the filter, checking and cleaning the spray arms, inspecting the door gasket, and wiping down the interior and exterior surfaces. Consider running a dishwasher cleaner monthly to remove residue buildup.
