To charge the battery, locate the battery compartment integrated into the frame. Use the provided charger and plug it into a standard wall outlet. Connect the charger to the charging port on the bicycle. Ensure the connections are secure, and the LED indicator on the charger will light up to show charging is in progress.
First, check if the battery is charged, as the lights are powered by the same battery. If the battery is charged, inspect the light connections for any loose wires or damage. If everything appears intact, consult your Trek dealer for further diagnostics.
Regular maintenance is recommended every 6 months to ensure optimal performance. This includes checking the brakes, drivetrain, and battery health, as well as lubricating moving parts. For best results, get it serviced by a professional at a Trek authorized service center.
While you can replace the tires, it's important to choose ones that match the specifications of the original tires for safety and performance. Look for tires that fit the same diameter and width to ensure compatibility with the rims and frame.
To adjust the seat height, locate the quick-release lever or bolt on the seat post. Loosen it to slide the seat up or down to the desired height. Tighten the lever or bolt securely to ensure the seat does not move during rides.
The recommended tire pressure is typically printed on the sidewall of the tires. For most models, it ranges between 60-80 psi. Maintaining the correct tire pressure helps ensure a smooth ride and reduces the risk of punctures.
To check the brakes, squeeze the brake levers and ensure the brake pads make firm contact with the rims without rubbing when released. Inspect the pads for wear and replace them if they are worn down. Adjust the cable tension if the brakes feel loose.
Check the derailleur alignment and cable tension first. If the cables are loose or the derailleur is out of alignment, adjust them accordingly. Clean and lubricate the drivetrain to ensure smooth gear changes. If issues persist, a professional tune-up may be required.
Avoid using high-pressure water directly on the electronic components. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the frame and a soft brush for the drivetrain. Ensure that connectors and ports are dry before reconnecting and charging the bicycle.
Store the bicycle in a dry, cool place to prevent rust and battery degradation. Charge the battery to around 50% before storage and disconnect it if possible. Check the tire pressure and inflate as needed to avoid flat spots.
