To reset the Thomson GSIT1443B dishwasher, press and hold the start button for about 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes. This will reset the dishwasher to its default settings.
If your dishwasher is not draining, check for clogs in the drain hose and filters. Ensure that the drain hose is not kinked and the sink drain is clear. Clean the filters and remove any debris if necessary.
To clean the filter, remove the bottom rack to access the filter. Twist the filter counterclockwise and lift it out. Rinse it under running water to remove debris, then reinstall it by twisting clockwise until secure.
Use a high-quality dishwasher detergent specifically designed for dishwashers. Avoid using regular dish soap as it can cause excessive suds and damage the appliance.
Unusual noises may be caused by items touching the spray arms or a foreign object in the filter. Check and rearrange the dishes to ensure nothing is obstructing the spray arms. Remove any objects from the filter area.
Open the rinse aid dispenser by turning the cap counterclockwise. Adjust the settings using the dial inside the dispenser. Turning it towards a higher number increases the rinse aid usage.
Load dishes with the dirty side facing the spray arms. Avoid overcrowding and ensure that nothing blocks the spray arms. Place larger items at the sides and back, and smaller items in the middle racks.
To improve drying performance, use a rinse aid and ensure the dishwasher is not overloaded. Select a drying cycle if available, and open the door slightly after the cycle completes to let steam escape.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the filters, checking and cleaning the spray arms, and running an empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner to remove buildup and odors.
If the dishwasher is not starting, check that it is plugged in and the door is fully closed. Ensure the circuit breaker is not tripped and the delay start option is not activated.
