To perform an oil change, warm up the engine, place the bike on a stand, remove the drain plug and old oil filter, let the oil drain completely, install a new filter, replace the drain plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
The recommended tire pressure for the Suzuki V-STROM 650 DL650A 2018 is 33 psi for the front tire and 36 psi for the rear tire. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
If the bike won't start, check the battery charge, inspect the fuses, ensure the kill switch is in the correct position, verify the fuel supply, and examine the spark plugs for any fouling or damage.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing the engine oil and filter, inspecting brake pads and fluid, lubricating the chain, checking tire condition and pressure, and inspecting the lights and electrical system.
To adjust the chain tension, place the motorcycle on a stand, loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain tensioners on both sides evenly, ensure proper slack, and tighten the axle nut to the specified torque.
If the engine overheats, stop the motorcycle as soon as safely possible, allow the engine to cool, check coolant levels, inspect for leaks, and ensure the radiator fan is functioning properly.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat and fuel tank, locate the air filter housing, remove the cover, take out the old filter, install the new filter, and reassemble the components in reverse order.
Unusual noises can result from loose components, worn out chain or sprockets, engine misfires, or exhaust issues. Inspect these areas and consult a mechanic if necessary for further diagnosis.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure the tires are properly inflated, maintain regular engine service, use the recommended grade of engine oil, avoid aggressive acceleration, and reduce unnecessary weight.
For electrical malfunctions, check the battery connections, inspect all fuses, examine the wiring for any visible damage, and test the alternator output. Ensure all connections are secure and corrosion-free.
