To check the oil level, place the motorcycle on a level surface and warm up the engine for a few minutes. Turn off the engine and wait for about three minutes. Check the oil level through the sight glass on the side of the engine. The oil should be between the "L" (Low) and "F" (Full) marks.
It is recommended to use 10W-40, API SF/SG or SH/SJ with JASO MA engine oil for optimal performance and protection of your Suzuki V-STROM 1050 DL1050 2020.
To adjust the suspension, locate the preload adjuster on the front forks and the rear shock absorber. Turn the adjuster clockwise to increase preload and counterclockwise to decrease it. Refer to your owner's manual for specific settings based on rider weight and riding conditions.
First, check the battery connections for any loose or corroded terminals. Ensure the battery is not damaged or expired. If connections are secure and the battery is in good condition, inspect the alternator and rectifier-regulator for faults. Consult a professional mechanic if the issue persists.
To adjust the chain, place the motorcycle on its center stand. Loosen the rear axle nut, then turn the adjuster bolts on each side of the swingarm to achieve the correct chain slack, which should be around 20-30mm. Tighten the axle nut and recheck the slack.
The recommended tire pressure for the V-STROM 1050 DL1050 is typically 33 psi for the front tire and 36 psi for the rear tire. Always refer to the owner's manual or the sticker on the swingarm for the exact specifications.
To reset the service light, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. Press and hold the "Select" and "Reset" buttons on the instrument panel simultaneously until the service light turns off. Release the buttons to complete the reset.
If your bike is overheating, check the coolant level and ensure there are no leaks. Inspect the radiator for obstructions or damage. Verify that the cooling fan is operating correctly. If the problem persists, have the cooling system inspected by a professional.
The air filter should be inspected every 6,000 miles (9,600 kilometers) and replaced if necessary. Riding in dusty or harsh conditions may require more frequent checks and replacements.
During the first 600 miles (1,000 kilometers), avoid maintaining constant engine speed and refrain from using full throttle. Gradually increase the engine speed and load while staying within the recommended RPM range as outlined in the owner's manual.
