The recommended maintenance schedule includes regular oil changes every 100 hours or annually, checking and cleaning the air filter every 50 hours, and inspecting the brake system every 100 hours. Regularly check tire pressure and tighten all bolts and nuts.
First, check the battery for charge and connections. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel lines are clear. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Lastly, ensure the kill switch is in the 'Run' position.
Use SAE 10W-40, API SG or SH rated 4-stroke motorcycle oil. Synthetic oils can be used if they meet the specified requirements.
To adjust the suspension, use the preload adjuster on the shocks. For a stiffer ride, increase the preload by turning the adjuster clockwise. For a softer ride, decrease the preload by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it with a mild detergent and water, then rinse thoroughly. Allow it to dry completely before re-oiling with a suitable air filter oil and reinstalling it.
If the ATV overheats, stop the vehicle and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down before checking the coolant level and radiator for blockages. Ensure the fan is operational. Refill coolant if necessary and look for leaks.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance like oil changes and air filter cleaning, avoid prolonged idling, and keep a steady throttle during rides.
To change the spark plug, first remove the spark plug cap. Use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new plug and adjust if necessary. Install the new plug, tighten it securely, and replace the spark plug cap.
For winter storage, clean the ATV thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure, disconnect the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the ATV to protect it from dust and moisture.
Excessive vibration can be caused by imbalanced or worn tires, loose nuts or bolts, or damaged suspension components. Check these areas and tighten or replace parts as necessary.
