The recommended oil type is SAE 10W-40, API classification of SG or SH, and the oil capacity is approximately 1.8 liters with an oil filter change.
Valve clearance should be checked every 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or as specified in the owner’s manual for optimal performance.
The recommended tire pressure is 29 psi for the front tire and 29 psi for the rear tire when riding solo. Adjust as necessary for different load conditions.
First, check the battery for charge and connections. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or wear, and ensure the fuel supply is not obstructed. A faulty ignition switch or starter relay may also cause starting issues.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, inflate the tires to the correct pressure, disconnect the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place.
Overheating may be due to low coolant levels, a clogged radiator, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a faulty water pump. Ensure the cooling system is properly filled and functioning.
To adjust the chain tension, place the motorcycle on a stand, loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides, and ensure there is about 1.2 - 1.6 inches (30-40 mm) of slack in the chain. Tighten the axle nut securely after adjustment.
Remove the seat to access the airbox. Open the airbox cover, remove the old air filter, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the new filter is seated properly and the airbox cover is securely fastened.
Maintain proper tire pressure, use quality fuel, ensure regular maintenance such as oil changes and air filter cleaning, and avoid aggressive acceleration to improve fuel efficiency.
Common electrical issues include blown fuses, faulty wiring connections, or a dead battery. Check the battery charge, inspect fuses, and ensure all connections are tight and corrosion-free. Replace any damaged components.
