The recommended oil for the Suzuki DR-Z125L 2023 is SAE 10W-40, API SF/SG or SH/SJ with JASO MA. The oil capacity is approximately 1.1 liters (1.16 US qt) when the oil filter is also replaced.
Regular maintenance checks such as oil changes and chain adjustments should be performed every 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Major service intervals occur at 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles).
To adjust the chain tension, first place the motorcycle on a stand. Loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters on both sides equally to achieve 20-30 mm of slack, and then tighten the axle nut to the specified torque.
Check the basics: ensure the fuel valve is open, the kill switch is in the run position, and the battery has charge. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and ensure it's properly connected. If issues persist, consult a dealer for possible electrical or fuel system issues.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, lubricate the chain, fill the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the battery. Store it in a dry, temperature-controlled environment and cover it to protect from dust.
The recommended tire pressures are 100 kPa (14 psi) for the front tire and 100 kPa (14 psi) for the rear tire for optimal performance and safety.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain regular servicing, ensure the air filter is clean, use the recommended grade of fuel, and avoid aggressive acceleration. Keeping tires properly inflated also helps.
The Suzuki DR-Z125L 2023 requires unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends over 10%.
Locate the brake fluid reservoir on the handlebars, check that the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks, and top up with DOT 4 brake fluid if necessary. Regularly inspect for leaks or air in the system.
If the engine overheats, turn off the motorcycle and let it cool down. Check the coolant level and for any leaks. Ensure the radiator is not clogged. If the issue persists, consult a professional mechanic.
