To start the Subaru Robin RGX180 generator, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is closed, and the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position. Pull the recoil starter briskly until the engine starts. Once running, gradually open the choke.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for general use, which provides good performance in most temperature conditions. For extremely cold weather, SAE 5W-30 oil is recommended.
Change the oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50 hours of use or at least once a year. Regular oil changes will ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify that the spark plug is in good condition and the ignition switch is 'ON'. If the generator still doesn't start, inspect the air filter and the choke position.
Perform regular maintenance every 50 hours or once a year, including changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, checking the spark plug, and inspecting the fuel system. More frequent maintenance may be required in dusty or harsh conditions.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter element. Clean it with soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely. Reinstall the filter and cover once dry. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
Check the circuit breaker and ensure it is not tripped. Inspect the power cord and connections for damage. If the problem persists, it may require professional inspection and repair of the generator's alternator or electrical components.
Drain the fuel tank and carburetor to prevent stale fuel issues. Change the oil, clean the generator, and store it in a dry, cool place. Disconnect the battery (if applicable) and cover the generator to protect it from dust and moisture.
Ensure adequate ventilation and remove any obstructions around the generator. Check the oil level and ensure it is correct. Inspect the cooling air intake for debris. If overheating persists, it might be necessary to consult a professional.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug and adjust if necessary. Install the new spark plug by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
