Open the cassette compartment by sliding the Open switch. Insert the cassette with the tape side facing outward, then close the compartment until it clicks securely.
Check the battery level, as low power can affect playback speed. Replace the batteries if necessary. If the issue persists, clean the tape heads and capstan with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
Extend the headphone cord fully, as it acts as the FM antenna. Additionally, try adjusting the position of the player or moving to an area with fewer obstructions.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. For the tape heads, gently use a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or solvents that could damage the device.
Turn on the radio and select FM or AM. Use the Tuning control to manually adjust the frequency until the desired station is reached.
Ensure there is no obstruction in the cassette compartment. Check if the cassette is inserted correctly and not warped. If the problem persists, inspect the latch for any visible damage.
The Sony WM-FS222 typically provides up to 24 hours of playback with fresh alkaline batteries. To extend battery life, always turn off the device when not in use and remove batteries if the player will be unused for extended periods.
Slide the Mega Bass switch to the ON position. This enhances the bass frequencies for a richer sound experience.
Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge. If the device still does not power on, try replacing the batteries with new ones.
Use the Mode switch to toggle between Tape and Tuner modes. Ensure the device is powered on before switching modes.
