Sony STR-DH800 Operating Instructions

To perform a factory reset on your Sony STR-DH800, press and hold the "POWER" button while pressing the "TONE MODE" and "MULTI CH IN" buttons simultaneously. Release all buttons when "CLEARING" appears on the display. The receiver will reset to factory settings.
Firstly, check if the speakers are properly connected. Ensure that the receiver is set to the correct input source. Verify that the "MUTING" function is not activated and the volume is turned up. If the issue persists, try performing a factory reset.
The Sony STR-DH800 does not have built-in Bluetooth capability. To connect a Bluetooth device, you will need to use a Bluetooth audio adapter connected to the receiver's audio inputs.
The Sony STR-DH800 does not support 4K passthrough as it only supports HDMI 1.3. To use it with a 4K TV, connect your 4K video sources directly to the TV and use the receiver for audio processing only.
The Sony STR-DH800 does not support firmware updates via USB or network. Firmware updates are not available for this model.
The Sony STR-DH800 supports Dolby Digital, DTS, and multi-channel PCM. It can also decode Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6 for stereo sources.
Ensure that your subwoofer is properly connected and that the subwoofer output is enabled in the receiver's settings. You can adjust the bass levels via the "TONE" control settings on the receiver.
Connect your turntable to the "AUDIO IN" jacks using an RCA cable. If your turntable does not have a built-in preamp, you'll need to connect a separate phono preamp between the turntable and the receiver.
Ensure that the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and not enclosed in a cabinet without airflow. Check for any obstructions blocking the vents. Overheating might also indicate a speaker impedance mismatch or short circuit, so verify speaker connections and impedance settings.
The Sony STR-DH800 features an Auto Calibration function. Connect the supplied calibration microphone to the "AUTO CAL MIC" jack on the front panel, place the microphone at your listening position, and follow the on-screen instructions to start the calibration process.
