To perform a factory reset on the Sony STR-DH790, press and hold the "POWER" button on the receiver until you see "CLEARING" displayed on the screen. This process will reset all settings to their default values.
First, ensure all cables are properly connected. Check that the correct input is selected and the volume is turned up. If using HDMI, ensure the TV or connected device's audio settings are correctly configured.
To connect a Bluetooth device, press the "BLUETOOTH" button on the receiver or remote. Ensure your device is in pairing mode and select "STR-DH790" from the list of available devices.
Regularly dust the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners. Ensure adequate ventilation and periodically check cable connections to ensure they are secure.
Check the Sony support website for any firmware updates for the STR-DH790. Follow the instructions provided, typically involving downloading the update onto a USB drive and connecting it to the receiver.
Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and not confined within a closed cabinet. Keep it away from direct sunlight and other heat sources. Regularly check and clean any dust buildup around the vents.
Connect an HDMI cable from the receiver's HDMI OUT (ARC) port to the TV's HDMI IN (ARC) port. Enable the ARC function in both the TV and receiver settings. Ensure HDMI Control (CEC) is enabled on both devices.
Use the "Easy Setup" process by connecting the calibration microphone to the receiver. Follow the on-screen instructions to automatically adjust speaker settings for optimal audio performance.
The STR-DH790 does not support multi-zone audio. For this functionality, consider upgrading to a model with multi-zone capabilities.
Ensure all HDMI cables are high-speed and properly connected. Power cycle all connected devices. Update the firmware on both the receiver and the connected devices. If issues persist, try using a different HDMI cable or port.
