First, ensure all connections are secure and the speakers are properly connected. Check if the "MUTING" function is activated and deactivate it if necessary. Also, verify that the correct input source is selected and the volume is turned up to an audible level.
To connect a TV, use an optical cable or RCA audio cables. Connect one end of the optical cable to the "OPTICAL IN" on the receiver and the other end to the TV's "OPTICAL OUT". For RCA cables, connect the TV's audio out to the receiver's TV/VIDEO inputs.
The receiver might be overheating or encountering a power issue. Ensure the unit is well-ventilated and not placed in a confined space. Check for any short-circuits in the speaker wiring and ensure impedance matches the specifications.
The Sony STR-DE875 does not support firmware updates as it is an older model. Firmware updates are not applicable to this receiver.
To clean, unplug the receiver and use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using chemicals or water. Regularly check and clean the vents to prevent dust buildup, which can cause overheating.
The Sony STR-DE875 does not have built-in Bluetooth capability. However, you can use a Bluetooth adapter connected to the receiver's audio inputs to stream audio wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Connect the FM and AM antennas to their respective terminals on the receiver. Press "TUNER" on the remote or receiver to select FM/AM. Use "TUNING +/–" buttons to find stations. For presetting, tune to the desired station, then press "MEMORY" followed by a preset number.
Check if the receiver is powered on and the display dimmer is set correctly. If the issue persists, unplug the receiver for a few minutes and plug it back in. If the display still doesn't work, professional servicing may be required.
For optimal home theater sound, access the receiver's setup menu and configure speaker sizes, distances, and levels according to your room layout. Use the "Sound Field" settings to select a surround mode that best matches your content, such as "CINEMA STUDIO EX".
