To set up surround sound on the Sony STR-DE835, connect your speakers to the corresponding terminals on the back of the receiver. Use the ‘Test Tone’ feature in the setup menu to ensure each speaker is connected properly. Adjust the speaker levels as needed for optimal sound balance.
Check that all cables are securely connected and the correct input source is selected. Ensure the volume is turned up and the mute function is not activated. If using an external device, verify it is powered on and functioning properly.
To reset the receiver, press and hold the ‘Power’ button while simultaneously pressing the ‘A.F.D.’ and ‘Speakers’ buttons. Release the buttons when ‘All Clear’ or a similar message appears on the display.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver. Avoid using any liquid cleaners or spraying directly onto the unit. Ensure vents are free of dust and debris to maintain optimal airflow.
Connect your subwoofer to the receiver using an RCA cable. Plug one end into the ‘Subwoofer’ output on the back of the STR-DE835, and the other end into the input on your subwoofer. Adjust the subwoofer settings in the receiver's menu for optimal bass performance.
Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and not enclosed in a tight space. Keep the vents clear of dust and obstructions. Consider using an additional cooling fan if overheating persists.
Refer to the remote control's manual for specific programming instructions. Generally, you will need to enter the appropriate code for your device while holding down the 'Set' button on the remote.
Check the power supply and ensure the receiver is properly plugged in. If the display remains unresponsive, reset the receiver to factory settings. If the issue persists, it may require professional servicing.
Ensure the FM antenna is properly connected and positioned for optimal reception. Consider using an external FM antenna or repositioning the current antenna for better signal strength.
The STR-DE835 offers various audio modes such as A.F.D., 2CH Stereo, and Dolby Pro Logic. To switch between modes, use the 'Sound Field' button on the receiver or remote control to cycle through the available options.
