To connect your Sony STR-DE697 to a TV, use an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port on the receiver to the HDMI IN port on your TV. Ensure that your TV input is set to the correct HDMI port.
Check that all speaker cables are properly connected and that the receiver is set to the correct input source. Also, ensure that the speaker settings are correctly configured in the receiver's menu.
To perform a factory reset, turn off the receiver. Press and hold the POWER button while pressing the SPEAKERS A/B button. Release both buttons when "All Clear" appears on the display.
Regularly dust the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any liquid cleaners. Ensure the ventilation slots are unobstructed and periodically check all connections for tightness.
Connect the FM antenna to the FM ANTENNA terminal on the receiver. Use the TUNING + or - buttons to find a station, then press MEMORY to store it as a preset.
The Sony STR-DE697 does not have built-in Bluetooth support. To use Bluetooth, you will need an external Bluetooth adapter connected to an available audio input.
Ensure that all video cables are securely connected. Check that the TV and receiver are both set to the correct input sources. If using HDMI, try different cables or ports to rule out any faults.
Ensure the receiver is in a well-ventilated area and not stacked with other components that could block airflow. Turn off the receiver and let it cool down before using it again.
Adjust the equalizer settings in the receiver's menu to suit your preferences. Consider upgrading your speaker cables or speakers for better sound quality.
The Sony STR-DE697 does not support firmware updates, as it is an older model. Ensure you have the latest manual and support documents from Sony's website for troubleshooting.
