Sony STR-DE635 Operating Instructions

To connect your Sony STR-DE635 to a TV, use RCA cables. Connect the audio output of the TV to the TV/VIDEO input on the receiver. Make sure to match the colors of the connectors to the ports.
If there is no sound, check that the receiver is set to the correct input source and that the speakers are properly connected. Also, ensure that the mute function is not activated and the volume is turned up.
To reset the Sony STR-DE635, turn off the receiver. Hold down the "POWER" button while pressing the "VIDEO" button. Release the buttons when "All Clear" appears on the display.
To clean the receiver, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any chemicals or abrasive materials. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth for stubborn dirt, but ensure the receiver is unplugged.
To enable surround sound, press the "SURROUND" button on the remote control and select the desired surround mode using the "MODE" button. Ensure that all speakers are correctly connected and positioned.
The Sony STR-DE635 does not natively support wireless speakers. You can use a wireless speaker kit to convert the speaker outputs for wireless transmission.
If the receiver shuts off automatically, it might be due to overheating or a short circuit in the speaker wiring. Ensure proper ventilation and check the speaker connections for any issues.
To adjust the bass and treble, press the "TONE" button on the remote control. Use the "BASS" and "TREBLE" buttons to adjust the levels to your preference.
For optimal sound, place the speakers at ear level and equidistant from the listening position. Use the receiver's speaker setup menu to calibrate the levels and distance for each speaker.
Connect the subwoofer to the receiver using an RCA cable. Plug the cable into the 'SUBWOOFER OUT' on the receiver and the input on the subwoofer. Make sure the subwoofer is powered on and the volume is adjusted.
