Sony STR-DE135 Operating Instructions

To reset the Sony STR-DE135 to its factory settings, turn off the receiver. Then, press and hold the "Power" button while pressing the "FM/AM" button. Release the buttons when "Initialize" appears on the display. This will reset all settings to their defaults.
First, ensure that the speakers are properly connected to the receiver. Check that the volume is turned up and not muted. Verify that the correct input source is selected. If the problem persists, try connecting a different set of speakers to determine if the issue is with the speakers or the receiver.
To connect your TV to the Sony STR-DE135, use an RCA audio cable. Connect one end to the TV's audio output and the other to the receiver's TV/DBS input. Ensure that the receiver is set to the TV/DBS input to hear audio from your TV.
Distorted sound at high volumes can be due to speaker impedance mismatch or overloading the amplifier. Ensure your speakers match the receiver's supported impedance. Avoid maxing out the volume to prevent distortion and potential damage to the speakers.
Press the "Tuning Mode" button to select "Auto Tuning". Use the "Tuning +" or "Tuning -" buttons to automatically search for a station. For manual tuning, select "Manual Tuning" and adjust the frequency with "Tuning +" or "Tuning -".
To improve FM/AM reception, adjust the antenna and place it in a location with fewer obstructions. For FM, use a longer wire or an outdoor antenna if necessary. For AM, reposition the AM loop antenna for better signal clarity.
Turn off and unplug the receiver before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners or sprays directly on the unit. Regularly check and clean the vent openings to prevent dust accumulation and overheating.
The Sony STR-DE135 does not have a dedicated subwoofer output. However, you can connect a subwoofer using speaker-level inputs, if your subwoofer supports it. Connect the subwoofer in parallel with the front speakers.
The Sony STR-DE135 does not have built-in Bluetooth. To use Bluetooth, you will need an external Bluetooth adapter. Connect the adapter to one of the available audio inputs on the receiver to stream music wirelessly.
Ensure that the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and that the vents are not blocked. Reduce the volume level to lessen the load on the amplifier. If overheating persists, have the receiver checked by a professional technician.
