To record a CD, place a blank CD-R or CD-RW in the CD-RW drive, select the source you want to record from (either the CD or an external source), press 'REC MODE' to choose the recording mode, and press 'REC' to start recording.
Ensure that the CD is placed correctly with the label side up. Check if the CD is clean and not scratched. If the issue persists, try playing another CD to determine if the problem is with the disc or the player.
To finalize a CD, press 'FINALIZE' after recording. The display will show 'Finalize?' Confirm by pressing 'ENTER'. This process will allow the CD to be played on other CD players.
Regularly clean the outer surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using volatile solvents. Periodically check and clean the CD lens with a lens cleaner to ensure optimal performance.
Check the recording level settings. Adjust the input level using the 'INPUT' knob. Ensure the source audio is at an adequate volume level.
Yes, connect the external source to the 'LINE IN' jacks. Select 'LINE' as the input source and follow the standard recording procedure to record from the external source to a CD.
Refer to the user manual for specific error codes. Common solutions include checking the disc for compatibility, cleaning the disc, and ensuring all connections are secure.
CD-R discs can only be recorded once, while CD-RW discs can be erased and re-recorded multiple times. The Sony RCD-W1 supports both types for recording.
Ensure the speakers are properly connected and positioned. Use high-quality audio cables, and check that the discs are clean and free of scratches.
Ensure the unit is powered on. If the tray still does not open, gently press the 'OPEN/CLOSE' button. If it remains stuck, unplug the unit for a minute, then try again.
