To set the time, press and hold the TIME button and use the + or - buttons to adjust the hour and minute. Release the TIME button to confirm your settings.
Ensure the disc is inserted correctly, with the label side up. Check for dirt or scratches on the disc. If the issue persists, try a different disc or clean the CD player lens with a cleaning disc.
Extend the FM wire antenna fully and adjust its position for better reception. Avoid placing the unit near metal objects or electronic devices that may interfere with the signal.
Press the ALARM SET button and use the + or - buttons to set the desired alarm time. Press ALARM MODE to select the sound source (CD, radio, or buzzer) and confirm your settings.
The unit does not have a built-in battery backup, so it loses the time setting during a power outage. You will need to reset the time manually once power is restored.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Avoid using water or cleaning solutions, which may damage the electronics. Clean the CD player lens with a lens cleaning disc if necessary.
The Sony ICF-CD837 is not designed to play MP3 CDs. It supports standard audio CDs only.
Ensure the unit is plugged in and powered on. Press the CD OPEN button firmly. If it still does not open, there may be a mechanical issue requiring professional service.
Unplug the unit from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. This will reset most settings to their defaults, but note that this will not fix any hardware issues.
Check if the volume is turned up and ensure the MUTE function is not activated. Verify that the correct input source is selected and connected properly.
