Ensure the CD is inserted correctly with the label side up. Check that the CD is not scratched or dirty. Try playing a different CD to see if the issue persists.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. For the laser lens, use a commercially available lens cleaner designed for CD players.
Extend the FM wire antenna fully and adjust its position for better reception. For AM stations, rotate the unit itself as it uses a built-in antenna.
Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit, remove the old battery, and replace it with a new 6F22 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
Check if the unit is properly plugged into a power source. If the problem persists, it may be due to a power surge or internal component issue.
The Sony ICF-CD821 is not designed to connect to external speakers, as it does not have audio output ports.
To reset, unplug the unit from the power source and remove the backup battery. Reconnect after a few minutes. This will clear all settings.
The Sony ICF-CD821 requires AC 120V power supply and uses a 6F22 backup battery for clock and alarm settings retention.
