Sony ICF-C705 Operating Instructions

To set the alarm on the Sony ICF-C705, press and hold the ALARM TIME SET button until the desired time appears. Use the TUNING + or - buttons to adjust the hour and minute. Release the ALARM TIME SET button when finished.
For better radio reception, try extending the antenna fully and adjust its position. Place the radio near a window and away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
If the device is not turning on, ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the radio and the power outlet. Check the outlet with another device to confirm it's working. If the issue persists, it may require servicing.
To change the time format, press and hold the CLOCK button for a few seconds. Use the TUNING + or - buttons to toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Release the CLOCK button when the desired format is set.
If the display is dim, check the brightness setting by pressing the SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS button. Cycle through the brightness levels to find a suitable setting.
To reset the radio, unplug it from the power source and remove any backup batteries. Wait for a few minutes and then reinsert the batteries and plug the device back in. This should reset the settings to factory defaults.
The Sony ICF-C705 can use batteries as a backup power source to maintain time and alarm settings during a power outage. However, it requires a power outlet for full operation.
To switch between AM and FM bands, press the RADIO ON/BAND button until the desired band appears on the display. Use the TUNING + or - buttons to select the station.
To set the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button repeatedly to select the desired duration (from 15 to 90 minutes in 15-minute increments). The radio will automatically turn off after the specified time.
To adjust the volume, use the VOLUME + or - buttons located on the side of the radio. Adjust to your preferred listening level.
