To set the time, press and hold the "CLOCK" button while adjusting the HOUR and MINUTE buttons until the correct time is displayed. Release the "CLOCK" button to save the time.
Ensure that the alarm time is set correctly by pressing the "ALARM" button and adjusting the HOUR and MINUTE. Verify that the alarm switch is set to "ON" or "RADIO" if you want to wake up to the radio.
For better FM reception, extend the FM wire antenna fully. For AM reception, try rotating the unit horizontally or relocating it to find the best reception.
The Sony ICF-C243 uses a 9V battery for power backup to maintain clock and alarm settings during power outages.
To adjust the volume, turn the volume dial located on the side of the unit until the desired level is reached.
Check if the device is properly plugged into a working power outlet. If the outlet is functional, the power cord or the unit itself may be faulty and require servicing.
It is recommended to use only the specified 9V battery type to ensure proper functionality and avoid damage to the unit.
Adjust the brightness setting if available. If the display remains dim, it could be an issue with the display itself or the internal circuitry, which may require professional servicing.
Use the "BAND" switch to toggle between AM and FM bands. Ensure you have tuned to a valid frequency within the desired band.
There is no dedicated factory reset button on the Sony ICF-C243. To reset, you may need to unplug the device and remove the backup battery, then reconfigure the settings manually.
