Sony ICF-C1 Operating Instructions

To set the time on your Sony ICF-C1, locate the "CLOCK" button on the device. Press and hold it until the hour digits begin to flash. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the hour, and press "CLOCK" again to set the minutes. Once set, press "CLOCK" once more to finalize the time setting.
If your Sony ICF-C1 is not turning on, check that it is properly connected to a power source. Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the device and the wall outlet. If the issue persists, try using a different outlet or check if the power cord is damaged.
To improve radio reception, try extending the antenna wire fully and adjust its position for better signal strength. If indoors, placing the device near a window may help. Avoid placing it near electronic devices that may cause interference.
Ensure that the alarm is correctly set by verifying the alarm time and the AM/PM setting. Check that the alarm volume is not set to zero. Additionally, make sure the alarm function is activated by observing the alarm indicator on the display.
To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats, press and hold the "CLOCK" button until the time format starts flashing. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to toggle between the formats, and press "CLOCK" again to set your preference.
The Sony ICF-C1 does not operate on batteries for regular use. However, it uses a CR2032 battery as a backup to maintain the clock and alarm settings during a power outage.
To reset the Sony ICF-C1 to factory settings, unplug the device. Then, press and hold the "RADIO" and "SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS" buttons simultaneously. While holding, plug the device back in and continue holding the buttons until "RESET" appears on the display.
Adjust the display brightness by pressing the "SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS" button repeatedly. The display cycles through different brightness levels, allowing you to choose the one that suits your preference.
First, tune to your desired radio station. Then, set the alarm by pressing the "ALARM" button and select "RADIO" as the alarm sound using the "+" and "-" buttons. Ensure that the volume is set appropriately for the radio alarm.
If the sound is distorted, check if the volume is set too high, as this can cause distortion. Lower the volume to see if it improves. Additionally, ensure there is no interference from other electronic devices nearby.
