Connect the ICD-UX71 to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Once connected, the device will appear as a removable drive. Open the drive, locate the recordings folder, and copy the files to your computer.
Ensure that the batteries are properly inserted and have enough charge. If the issue persists, try replacing the batteries with new ones. If the device still doesn't turn on, perform a reset by removing the batteries and re-inserting them after a few minutes.
To extend battery life, reduce the backlight duration, lower the volume, and turn off features like the built-in speaker when not in use. Additionally, use high-quality alkaline batteries for longer performance.
The Sony ICD-UX71 supports MP3 and WMA formats for recording playback. Ensure your recordings are in these formats for compatibility.
To delete a recording, select the file you wish to remove, press and hold the 'ERASE' button, and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the deletion.
To improve audio quality, ensure that the microphone is not obstructed during recording, use the highest quality recording mode available, and minimize background noise. Position the recorder closer to the sound source if possible.
Check if the files are corrupted by playing them on a computer. If they are corrupted, try recovering them using audio recovery software. Ensure the files are in a supported format and not damaged.
Press the MENU button, navigate to 'Settings', and select 'Date & Time'. Use the navigation buttons to adjust the date and time, then confirm the settings to save them.
The Sony ICD-UX71 has a built-in monaural microphone. To record in stereo, you will need to connect an external stereo microphone to the mic input jack.
To perform a factory reset, go to the 'Settings' menu, select 'Initialize', and choose 'Yes' to confirm. This will reset all settings to their defaults but will not delete any recordings.
