Sony HMD-A400 Operating Instructions

To connect your Sony HMD-A400 to your computer, use a VGA cable to connect the monitor to the VGA port on your computer. Ensure both devices are turned off before connecting. Once connected, power on the monitor first, followed by the computer.
Press the menu button on the monitor to access the on-screen display (OSD) menu. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the options to adjust brightness, contrast, and other settings. Press the menu button again to exit.
Ensure that the VGA cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the computer. Check if the computer is powered on and not in sleep mode. If the problem persists, try using a different cable or port.
Turn off the monitor and unplug it from the power source. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a screen cleaner to gently wipe the screen. Avoid using paper towels or abrasive materials.
The optimal resolution for the Sony HMD-A400 is 1024x768 at 85Hz. Adjust the resolution settings through your computer's display settings for the best performance.
Check if the VGA cable is properly connected and not damaged. Access the monitor's OSD menu to reset color settings to default. If issues persist, try connecting the monitor to a different computer to determine if the issue lies with the monitor or the computer.
Flickering can be caused by improper refresh rate settings. Ensure that the refresh rate is set to 85Hz in your computer’s display settings. Check for any loose cable connections as well.
The Sony HMD-A400 automatically enters power-saving mode when it does not detect a signal from the computer. You can also manually configure power-saving settings through the OSD menu under the power management section.
The Sony HMD-A400 is not designed for wall mounting as it lacks VESA mounting holes. It is recommended to use it on a stable flat surface.
Access the monitor's OSD menu and navigate to the reset option. Select it and confirm to reset all settings to factory defaults. This will restore all settings to their original states.
