To reset the Sony DVP-CX995V to factory settings, power on the unit, open the disc tray, press and hold the STOP button on the unit until "ALL CLEAR" appears on the display.
Ensure that the disc is clean and undamaged. Try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth. If the issue persists, the lens may need cleaning or the unit may require servicing.
