Sony DSC-U60 Operating Instructions

To turn on the Sony DSC-U60, slide the power switch located on the top of the camera to the 'ON' position. The camera will emit a sound to indicate it is powered on.
If the camera does not power on, ensure that the batteries are properly installed and charged. Check the battery compartment for any corrosion or debris. If the issue persists, try using a different set of batteries.
To transfer photos, connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable. Ensure the camera is powered on. Your computer should recognize the camera as a removable storage device, allowing you to copy the images.
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the lens. Avoid using any liquid cleaners, as the camera is designed to be water-resistant, and liquid can cause damage.
To reset the camera to factory settings, go to the 'Setup' menu, select 'Initialize', and confirm the selection. The camera will reset and restart with default settings.
Blurry photos can be due to camera shake or incorrect focus. Ensure your hands are steady or use a tripod. Check that the camera is focusing correctly on the subject by half-pressing the shutter button before fully pressing it.
To enable macro mode, press the 'Macro' button on the back of the camera. This mode allows you to take close-up shots of subjects. An icon will appear on the screen to indicate macro mode is active.
The Sony DSC-U60 is designed to be water-resistant up to a depth of 1.5 meters (approximately 5 feet) for up to 30 minutes. Ensure all compartments are securely closed before submerging the camera.
To change the batteries, open the battery compartment located at the bottom of the camera by sliding the latch. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring the correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
A 'Memory Stick Error' indicates an issue with the memory card. Try removing and reinserting the card, ensuring it is correctly oriented. If the error persists, format the memory card using the camera's 'Format' option in the 'Setup' menu.
