To reset your Sony DAV-DX170 to factory settings, press and hold the "STOP" button on the unit and the "EJECT" button on the remote control simultaneously for about 5 seconds until "RESET" appears on the display.
Ensure that the speaker wires are correctly connected to the receiver and the speakers. Also, check if the volume is turned up and that the MUTE function is not activated.
First, replace the batteries in the remote control. If it still doesn't work, ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver, and try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing all buttons twice.
Clean the disc to ensure it is free from dust and fingerprints. If the issue persists, try using a lens cleaning disc to clean the player's lens.
Use the supplied video cable to connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the system to the VIDEO IN jack on your TV. Then, select the appropriate input on your TV to view the content.
Check if the sleep timer is enabled and disable it if necessary. Also, ensure the unit is well-ventilated to prevent overheating.
The Sony DAV-DX170 does not support software updates as it is not equipped with network connectivity. Ensure you have the latest firmware by contacting Sony support.
The Sony DAV-DX170 does not support Bluetooth connectivity. You can connect external devices using the available audio input ports.
Regularly dust the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners. For the disc tray, use a lens cleaning disc periodically to ensure the lens is clean.
Position the speakers according to the manual's layout diagram. Access the system's sound settings menu and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the surround sound.
